I’m Drew. Well, technically my name is Andrew, but only the government calls me that, really.

I’m 25 years old, based out of Denver, Colorado, and right now I’m a software developer for TriZetto, out of Englewood, CO.

I graduated from the University of Kansas in 2023 with a BS in computer science and a minor in cybersecurity.

I’ve been a lover of all things computers from a very young age. I first touched a keyboard at six months old (no, really), I started writing Java at age 10 because I wanted to make Minecraft mods, I already had a proto-homelab by age 13, I was studying and blowing up malware in VMs not long after which turned into an interest in cybersecurity, and the rest is history as they say.

While I’m only a hobbyist when it comes to cybersecurity, it’s definitely been my biggest computer-related hobby as of late. I’ve written a handful of honeypots ranging from shallow to immersive in order to capture things like info on C2s, malware samples, recent exploit trends and the like. Unfortunately, most malware is boring nowadays, but occasionally you find something entertaining. If I find something particularly interesting or entertaining, I may end up writing about it here.

I’m a big nerd for homelab stuff and self-hosting in general, which seems harder than ever these days. While my homelab could probably be better described as a bunch of mini-PCs in a trenchcoat with a fake ID declaring it’s a homelab, it’s been a fun little thing to manage and work with.

My other hobbies include hiking, skiing, cycling, and video games, especially simulator games like Microsoft Flight Sim. For MSFS, I use a Honeycomb Alpha, for driving sims I use a Logitech G29 + shifter, pedals and all. I’m also a fan of the Jayhawks, Broncos, Nuggets and Avs.

It’s a Hugo static site, so basically it’s Markdown in, HTML out, served up by nginx. It’s simple, sure, but it’s more than good enough for what I want my personal page to be.
